**** WEEKEND WIFE **

This is a true experience, not fictional and because of the appearance of the word "wife" in the title it is necessary to make clear that it is used in the social not in the sexual sense.

Several months ago the wife of one of my TV friends called my wife and asked her if "Catherine" would like to spend the weekend as a "wife" Seemed her husband had to go to a nearby city on business and I could go with him as Catherine. My wife said that she too thought it would be an interesting experience and called me at the office to tell me about it. Naturally I thought it a great idea, so it was agreed.

The following Saturday morning Catherine and Frank started off It was understood that as part of the exper- iment all reference to Catherine's other life and work would be left out of the conversation, that I was strictly a woman and a wife and both of us would act accordingly. So off we went. We had an interesting and animated con- versation on the way in which I expounded and defended woman's rightful place in the world and Frank defended the masculine position. (It was a draw)

Arriving at our destination about 1 P.M. We searched for a motel and found one not far from the cities largest hotel where we planned to go for dinner that evening. We registered as Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jackson and went to our room. Frank, my "husband" then took the car and went off on his business. I stayed behind and changed from a trav- eling dress to one more appropriate for shopping and for the weather which had turned chilly. I also lay on the bed for awhile and undertook to conditition myself for the experience and to get more genuinely in the mood. I said out loud to my self over and over.

"I am Mrs. Frank Jackson, I have a husband, I am his wife... .Mrs. Catherine Jackson. My husband supports me and
